Looks great PKG082! Love the look of natural cherry and the joinery looks nice.
Hi,
I'm new-be when it comes to working with wood on fine or/& small scale, but I got to admit, I'm really impressed!
Nice job! :-)
I was wondering if you had any advice for a project of mine. I'm making a 16"X16" 'Checker-Board' for my Uncle's 90th Birthday. I've already made the playing board & pieces, but I wanted to make a 3" tall dove-taile joined box for the base (I'm using cedar wood balls cut-down to 1/4th" each with felt clued to the bottom of each as feet(4 in total. 1 for each corner).
So to cut to the point, I have 2 questions for you:
1. I want to make a 'small drawer' for the pieces. How would go about that?
2. How would or/& what would you use to seal the wood to protect it from the elements? I'm using 'Bass-Wood', 'Cedar wood', & simple run of the mill 2X6's "Band-Sawed to a thiner thickness of my liking of course"
Any advice would greatly appreciated & again, really nice work!
Regards,
- Thomas
Love the look of natural cherry, nice job. I hate it when workers cover it up with dark stain.
