My Workbench
This was my personal carver’s bench I designed and built to accommodate the many holding requirements and storage of the multiple carving tools both for hand and power carving. It is made mostly of Maple with walnut accents for the drawer dovetails. The false fronts are made of 1/2 inch BB with Plumb Pudding Mahogany veneer and Curly Maple trim. The drawer pulls are also home made. There are 16 drawers in total and 8 have special organization sections to keep the tools in place. Each drawer has two extra long bottom slides that allow nearly full extension and a smooth closing action.

Like the storage under the top!
Nice, sure hope you had some help hefting that bench up on the other one. :-)
Nice looking workbench.
Beautyful work! Has anyone told you you should of made that a dresser or some other piece of furniture?
I made a tool chest and I had a person at my work tell me that I wasted a beautyful chest by putting tools in it. I told them that the tools in the chest cost way more than a bunch of store bought quilts.
My wife fully agrees with me on this.
They could not understand the idea of a tool chest.
I posted this tool chest this past spring.
Some people at my work wonder why I roll my eyes at them.
It would hurt me to drop a tool into one of those exquisite drawers.
Very nicely done Edward,
I too put a large under top shelf to keep my top clean and neat as possible I see you have the Veritas twin screw vise as well as the Veritas "Tucker" vise, wow. Very nice bench.
Robert.
Beautiful work, Edward. I am about to make my own workbench out of some 5" thick, by 22" wide hardwood which has been drying in my shop for a few years. As I'm finalizing my design and gathering parts, I wonder if the pattern maker's vise is worth it. Please give me your opinion. Also, what brand is yours? And, do you like it?
Again, your workbench is beautiful.

A beautiful example of fine intricate workmanship. -but as oakleafjoe comments "tools are worth more than quilts!".However it must be a very special workshop to deserve storage facilities such as this. What's your drawing room like- one wonders.

A lot of thought and effort have gone into producing and excelent bench and tool box combination.
Well done.
Looks too good for a shop, but may be good as advertisment for workmanship. My vote goes here.
Beautiful work. Those are some needle fine pins! You've got my vote.
Absolutely gorgeous work. I'm amazed at the time invested in doing such intricate work... for a work bench. One can only imagine what comes out of your workshop. Congrats.
Wow! Wonderful design and execution. I'm a fan of organization and this is a home run. Well done.
Bravo!
Your efforts and craftsmanship are never wasted on a creation you will enjoy immensely for the rest of your life. Is this not the reason we do this work? Very well done. Am planning mine now.
That must have been quite difficult to get the bench on top of the other bench. Looks heavy!
