Mahogany Entry Door
8′ x 4′ round-top entry door. Solid, 2-1/4″ thick Honduran mahogany. The door features a small “speakeasy” hatch. The leaded glass window is shop-made (I was inspired after reading Michael Pekovich’s article in FW!) The “hatch” is a small frame-and-panel door that swings on an inset frame.
Mortise and tenon construction. The central stiles “float” within the outer frame, and are supported by four rails that run cross-ways through the door.
The door and frame (the project was essentially a pre-hung door) are finished with seven coats of Epifanes spar varnish.

Very nice indeed. Elegant proportions and I really like the hatch.
Have you used any proprietary weather proofing seals, if so, would you share which ones and where fitted? I'm especially interested as an architectural exterior door is moving quite close to the top of my action list.
Very nice. Which Michael Pekovich article are you referring to?
