Higher Aspirations
I designed this screen while taking a class at Penland School of Crafts in western North Carolina. It is made from Oregon Walnut that was milled 30 years ago, and given to me by a friend. The inlay in the sides and front legs is curly maple. The finish is padded shellac with a wax top coat. I took the photos using the same setup that was described by Michel Pekovich in the July/August 2010 FWW article “A Woodworkers Guide to Photography”. Great article!
Special thanx to the insects that added so much to the wood, or subtracted, depending on your point of view!
