Wormy Chesnut Hutch
This hutch is made from wormy chestnut and ebonized oak. The chestnut was reclaimed after the client tore a wall out in their home and discovered the hidden treasure. I then was hired to design, and handcraft this beautiful hutch. The bottom has to sliding doors, followed by wine bottle holders, a middle cubby, and the three drawers. The bottom shelf has hangers for wine glasses, and the shelves have dados in the back so decreative plates can be displayed. www.hayesfurnituredesign.com

Most unusual. I like it, though. Really unique.
What did you use to ebonize the oak? Nice job.
The oak was spray painted (two coats) lightly to ensure the grain pattern remained. Following the paint was one coat of universal shellac sanding sealer to protect the paint from the following lacquer coats.
