POWER TILTING A TABLESAW
My idea is more of an adaption of existing power tools/equip. to perform the important job of tilting a Craftsman table saw arbor easily and with precision.
Power tilting a table saw.
If you are using an older Craftsman table saw, and you are tired of busting your knuckles tilting the arbor, and having to use trial and error to align the blade to the angle you want, I have a solution. I removed the round adjusting wheel with the little crank handle and purchased a cheap 90 degree angle drive for a hand drill. I attached the chuck on the angle drive onto the stem of the adjusting shaft left exposed when I removed the adjusting wheel. I then attached an old battery powered, variable speed drill onto the angle drive. Now, I can squat down, take the drill inn my right hand, select the direction I need and can jog the arbor and blade into perfect alignment.
It works way better than I anticipated when I first thought of it. Do not substitute an impact driver for the variable speed drill. They can tear something up. This may work on other brands of table saws too. It’s a big return for a small investment.

You know some people might get a laugh out of this but if you have a injury or you get a little older this simple idea WORKS! I can see the same people who laugh at this doing this to their own saw.
You ever watch the Red Green Show? It reminds me of the episode they went camping with a pop up camper and the crank handle was gone and he used a Dewalt cordless drill to power the pop up.
Didn't go so well for him though.
That is a AWSOME Idea!!!
The best ideas are simple ones. This is fantastic!
