Gallery: Modern Bench

This bench is based on an article in the ‘Fine Woodworking’ magazine of Nov/Dec 2007 and published on the finewoodworking.com site, entitled ‘A Modern Bench’ by Mark Edmundson. The original design has a danish cord seat but I couldn’t find any locally and so opted for a solid wood seat. My bench is made from recycled oak – some old furniture we had that we weren’t using any more.

Nice use of recycled wood! I'm not a fan of danish cord anyway so appreciate the solid wood seat.
