Wine Bar

These are photos of a recent project of mine, a wine bar. The entire bar is made of solid sapele, with the exception of a faux slate (formica) work surface. There are halogen lights hidden under the top to illuminate the work surface. The doors on the front and the entire side panels are frame and panel construction. There are three storage areas on the bottom, including storage for 16 bottles of wine and wine glasses. The bar was stained with a wiping stained, followed by a coat of shellac and finished with three coats of wipe on polyurethane.

Very, very nice. There's no telling what you would have to pay to buy an equivalent piece of furniture on the retail market and it,in all likelihood,would come nowhere near measuring up to the quality of your project. I have found myself wondering how sapele would work and stain and this piece answers my question. This is a really attractive piece of furniture. Thanks for sharing it with us.
