Gallery: Beech and Maple Hanging Tool Cabinet
As I’ve been using hand tools more and more, I found myself storing them all over my shop. Inspired by Henry Studley’s famous tool cabinet (but nowhere near as good), and the numerous examples here in the Reader’s Gallery, I designed and built my own cabinet. It measures 40×42 (including the shelves below) with 6 inches of depth in the cabinet and an additional 3 inches on the inside of the doors. The 9 drawers provide plenty of storage and are partitioned with hardboard dividers. In each drawer is a second tray that sits above the dividers for more fastener storage. The center 3 drawers (also with 2 tiers each) are felt lined for caliper, and other delicate tool storage.

Excellent!!! So, what does your wife say about you putting it on the living room wall? It definitely qualifies as a fine piece of furniture.
Very nice... :-)
Lovely. Perfect proportions and very pleasing colors. The craftsmanship appears excellent. The only problem is whether to leave it open or closed; it looks great both ways.
Dazzling! Your design has inspired me! I'm in process of building a wall hanging tool Cabinet, and you just made it more difficult. Oh well....... :-)
THANKS!!
