Maple Coffee table
Mortise and tenon for the slab legs. Mortise and tenon for the cherry stretcher with ebony wedges. Used the info from the article “Tabletop Finish With a Hand-Rubbed Feel”. Learned to be careful with spalted wood in the future. One of the sides had a small spalted area and when I put the ebony wedges in I produced a small crack. Superglue to the rescue!

Nice table nralien. Next time you might want to install the wedges perpendicular to the way this table has them. That way pressure is pushing with the grain taking away the tendancy to split the wood. Nice job though.
This is a pretty table. Did you mortise & tenon the top ends of the 'legs' into the underside of the table top?
