Wenge and Oak Box
A good friend gave me a small piece of Wenge several months ago. It was too small to make a whole box, but combining it with the oak made a 4 x 6.5 inch box with a pin hinged lid. The corners are a hybrid half-lap/butt joint with dowels. The bottom is lined with black velvet, and the box is finished with hand rubbed poly.

I'm impressed by the design and the contrasts. Well made and interesting.
Very good 'hybrid thinking'. I like the design, the contrast, and its size makes it useful.
