Wooton Inspired Desk
This is my take on the famous “Wooton” desk built in the late 1800’s in Indiana. I was able to find an original so that I could get overall dimensions, but the rest of the design is my own. It took about 6 months to build in my garage workshop. The construction is mostly Red Oak, with Maple and Walnut used on the inlayed stars at the top.

Nice work .. very nice
That's a very useful and unique looking peice. Very nice!
I'm impressed... Well done....
That is amazing. If that took you 6 months to build I imagine you don't run a company or have many children. Retired perhaps? I'm trying to get a sense of how long it takes people to make certain pieces for their own enjoyment while working 50-60 hrs per week.
My mouth literately dropped open when I saw this beautiful piece. Congratulations!
007Lab- To answer your question on time, I do have a full time job, though my kids are older. I worked/thought on the design for about a year before I started building. I guess that once I got started, I was motivated to push on through. When not traveling for my job though, I work from home. Than enables me to take a break from work to do a quick glue up. Than can save some time.
Hey i was windering if you have the plans i could buy
I built one of these in high school, but it mine is a reproduction. I am wondering what kind of hardware you used to keep the doors shut, because I never put any hardware on. Mine stay shut, but I want to put some hardware on there because I am not sure if they will always stay shut alone.
Awesome job!! It is beautiful! I like the modern style you took on this!
I want some plans for this as well love it and it would be great for my beadworking as well as fly tying
I would love to know how to build this, this would be my perfect man center. The one place in the house were i could have my own sanctuary. How can I get the plans for this?
I would like the plans such as you have for this to do a 1/12 scale reproduction.
Thanks. Gary
