Walnut jewellery box with concealed drawers
Hi All
This is my latest commission – it is made from black walnut with sycamore inlays. The lid is made from bandsawn veneers with the grain running front to back. The flap is held in place in the close position with 2 spring catches and the box is lined in mulberry suede. Finished with several coats of blonde shellac followed by wax. Fitted with nickel hardware.
Cheers
Ian

I have been looking for a long time for perfect jewelry box to make as a 16th birthday gift for my oldest grandaughter. When I saw your box yesterday,it was the one I have been looking for. It's beautiful. At first as I looked at it, it looked pretty straight forward. However the closer I look the more technical it becomes. Is there a chance of getting any schematics?
Hi Amax sorry for the late reply. I do have drawings but I am keeping these for a future magazine article as they will be released with the magazine.
Best regards
Ian
Ian please let me know what magazine the walnut jewelry box will appear in so that I can support your great work and get the information that I need. I am also interested in the hardware, I cannot seem to locate the spring catches either. Good luck with your article. Thanx Alan
Is there anyway I could get a copy of the plan for this?
