1000 Year Old Redwood

A dear friend, who happens to be a master stringed instrument maker, gifted me with these pieces of 1000 yr old Redwood. They are too thin, 1/4-3/8ths of an inch, for him to use for his instruments so it’s Christmas in July for me. I’m planning various projects including two end tables. Then letting clients benefit from their beauty also.

But if you can name the type of grain, then you deserve to hold such precious wood! What type/style of grain do you hold in you hand? If you can't name it, then you should gift to others that really deserve christmas in july. :)

Wow, what beautiful wood. It looks like a clear mountain stream with the afternoon sun bouncing off the swirling surface.
