LV Coffee Table
I have had these large maple burl veneers for a long time and I knew they were going to be a table top. Well, their time has come after 12 years or so of waiting in the veneer shed. They sure are spectacular sheets and everybody, including myself, is mesmerized by figure of these maple burl veneer. Edged with macassar ebony in a traditional manner.
Legs consist of 33 pieces each, which were a chore to glue up. 16 pieces of quilted maple wedges and 16 pieces of 1/16″ thick macassar ebony and 33rd piece is the foot in wenge.
I didn’t have the heart to cut off the maple veneer, so the table is not square. 42″x 47″ x 16″ high.
Finish is hand rubbed varnish after hours of sanding up to 400G.
