Separated layers
This is a jewelry box made for my wife as a wedding anniversary present.
Solid purpleheart sides, mitred, with inserted wenge mitre keys.
Purpleheart tray with hand-cut heart shaped dovetails.
Lid, base and interior tray supports; veneered ripple sycamore with wenge edgings.
Purple leather base linings in tray and removable base with purpleheart/wenge knob.
Finished with oil and wax, satin finish.
Made over many months during lunch breaks to my own design.

The many months of building it show...beautiful job. I am sure she loved it.
Very clever on the dovetails... completes the whole story for the anniversary. Nice.
