Walnut Desk
Air-dried Walnut, White Oak
30″ H x 47.5″ W x 22″ D
Desk inspired by a particular plank and a general love of Walnut and desks heh.
The subtle curves made the drawer box a challenge. Though simple enough looking this project utilized a number of construction methods: solid wood, veneer, bent lamination, lumber-core…

Very sweet. Nicely done.
Beautiful. Are the aprons and drawer fronts bent laminations?
What guides the drawers?
Is the top a slab or veneer?
Beautiful work! really like the intergrated pulls.
Thanks folks!
The side aprons are veneer constructed bent lams, The back apron is veneered lumber-core, the side stretchers are normal bent lams, the drawer fronts are solid wood. The drawers just fit into pockets, no guides, "old school"? The top was one "big" plank that I veneered. The legs are integrated in such a way that a solid wood top would not work. That and the plank for the top was just a tad narrow so I used a slip match or two in the veneer to achieve a wider top.
There are a couple of small details that I may tweak if doing something like it again, but hey I'm happy with it!
