“A Man’s Dressing Cabinet”
My design for this cabinet was based on sketches in Making Authentic Craftsman Furniture (Dover Publications, 1986), a collection of re-printed articles from “The Craftsman” by Gustav Stickley. Dimensions for the chest are 58″H x 38″W x 27″D and it is made from quarter-sawn white oak, with poplar and aromatic cedar as secondary woods and drawer components. Finish is aneline dyes and pigment stains (to simulate fuming) and then shellac and wax.

Wonderful! - Excellent craftsmanship!
Great job. I've had that book for years and it's one of my favorites. I've always liked that piece in particular, but I've never gotten around to making it. It's nice to finally see it in person!

I like it because you don't have to remember where every single thing is , you can see it!!! And I gotta say it looks a million from top to bottom. Build one for me!!!!!!!
Handsome. Thanks for citing the inspiration for your piece. Great craftsmanship.
You "nailed" it! That is very very nice work. Absolutely great job. Gotta love that qswo, there's nothing like it and you made the most of it with that dresser.
