Good Grief!!!<< well this one does have all the 'Fine Woodworking' of a junior high shop project... but i included it because it completes the Whole Buffalo Suite (the chicken nuggets part). And though it doesn't look it from this foto, it has a really nice (though quirkier than standard Mission flavor) proportion, the oversized top is balanced by the 'conversation' with the brass stretcher. I imagine the Ecollage version of a Morris chair it might go with... i CAN handcut a nice dovetail in pine (as Krenov suggests), but like Bartleby the Scrivener, i would prefer not to- unless it is the appropriate detail. Sometimes a welded-in-place piton and turnbuckle holding a lampshade in compression is the way to go.
