Federal Side Table

This table uses Walnut and Poplar (secondary) wood. Inlays and stringing are holly and dyed castela. Banding is aspen, mahogany and dyed castela. Stringing grooves were hand cut using Lie-Nielson tools. I finished the table base with brush applied blond shellac, rubbed with 400/600 wet sandpaper and finally 0000 steel wool and pumice. The top was french polished.

Sand shaded patera of holly veneer. Banding was home-made. Drawer pull was from Horton Brass.
