I have made some cahirs with nothing but curved lines. This is the first straight-lined chair that I really appreciate. Super wonderful works!!
Love your work on your website. The chair surfaces remind me of one of those stealth fighters -- all odd angles and stuff, and compelling to look at.
I love your design here. It really is unlike anything else I've seen before. Nice work!
Thank you. I wanted this to look sculpted but still have sharp lines. The back of the seat was the hardest thing to make flow with the design, this was the third attempt. I wanted it to look like an upholstered car seat in wood. I started with a cardboard cut out of the side view, much to my surprise the parts had to curve and twist a lot to meet at the arm and front leg. I got in way over my head and almost ended up with some pretty fire wood. It's nice to have another set of eyes look at it, after about 100 hours on it starts looking blah.
Wow that is a good looking chair!!! You might be interested in seeing the 'Monolo Lounger' By John Galvin. His work has a similar-ish vibe, think I prefer yours though.
That is a fabulous chair and will provide me woth inspiration and ideas for my own chair projects. You can really see how this chair has evolved from your previous work. It really has a sense of fast movement and a futuristic feel. The angular design is outstanding and skilfully crafted. I also like the el torro on your website.
