Antique Englislh Cutlery Tray
My father has been receiving the fine woodworking magazine since it was first published and anxiously awaits each new issue. For my mothers birthday one year he made a reproduction of the 200 year old antique english cutlery tray featured in the Sept./Oct 1990 issue out of brazilian mahogany. He contends that this was one of his most challenging pieces due to the intricate use of the compound dovetail joint in the project plans. He also decoupaged on the bottom of the tray, detailed information on this tray and for whom it was made-a lovely added touch!Though he has made several trays similar to this in the past this project stands out as one of his favorites and a prized gift of my mothers.Keep up the excellent work on your publication!

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I recently attempted to handcut some compound angle dovetail joints with no success. I tried to search for the Brazilian Mohagany issue you mentioned to look for insights into your techniques to cutting this joint but couldn't find it. Could you tell me where I could find this publication or offer some pointers on how to cut this joinery?
