Van Horne Table
In an effort to break out of the linear box, I designed this low table.
The legs are steam bent black walnut held together with curly maple dovetaild keys. The curly maple disk nests snugly to transfer the considerable weight of the top section and glass top.
Materials:
Air dried 8/4 Walnut, Curly maple, Machine screws & inserts, Glass.
finished with oil and lacquer.

I'm not really into this modern style furniture BUT I have to admit is is very attractive and very well done.
My brain is unable to compute how you performed the maple dovetailed key function: one solid piece of maple w/ three keys or three separate keys somehow connected???
The rest of my brain really likes the piece!!
Staggering.
I thought I was getting fairly good, but after seeing this piece I'm back to referring to myself as a wood butcher again
Love the shape. I like the curves and I like glass myself .
Thanks Barkboy, There are 3 keys inserted in each half. They worked great as they pulled everything together during the glue up eliminating awkward cauls and clamps. just some epoxy and a hammer!
