Zig Zag Table 1
The table measures 1″ thick x 24″D X 36″W X 16″H. There are 360 individual pieces of Afican Rosewood and Red Oak combined to construct this table. It was built in 1978. This is my first prototype of this laminated construction process. There are several cutting and gluing stages which were designed and engineered to allow this piece to be made as a production run. The trick to getting it to line up square and plumb, when gluing, is to have the curved sections cut to a precise bevel before the gluing process begins. There are several designated steps to follow, which when executed properly, they will automatically shift the multi colored random brick pattern to give the two tone zig zag effect.
