Poplar Entry Doors
The two doors are 2 1/4″ thick and were constructed using solid poplar. The core of each door is a mahogany, stave core, exterior plywood material. The large form with 84 individual oak clamping blocks was used to glue, all at one time with a slow drying epoxy, the 1/8″ thick italian white poplar bending plywood door jambs. The length total of the laminated jamb is 19 ft from the floor up around the top and back down the opposite leg. The screen doors were constructed using all solid poplar lumber. The smaller arched doors were installed with invisible soss hinges. Thanks to my old friend Carl Miller for assisting me during the installation of this door project.
