Sam Maloof inspired rocker

The Walnut Rocker was made as a gift for my son and daughter-in-law. I tried to design it to give it a sense of comfortable enclosure. The design and rough shaping were done in a week at The Marc Adams School of Woodworking. The final carving, construction, and finishing were completed in my shop in Salina, Kansas. The finish is boiled linseed oil and laquer. The height of the rocker is 44 inches and the width at the arms is 25 inches.
