Mallets for the Scouts
A friend of mine from church, who is also the scoutmaster, asked if the scouts could come over and work on the woodworking merit badge in my shop. I thought it would be fun to put together some mallets, so these are what I came up with. These are in the unassembled state – the kids left before I could get a shot of the finished versions. Most of them are from some of the woods that I had laying around: soft maple, hickory, peacn, and red and white oaks.

Good on ya John, I bet the kid's
loved every minute of their time
in your shop. ;0)
That's great. Keep up the good work John. One of my memorabilia treasures is a mallet turned by a former pastor and scout master. He died in his nineties a couple of years ago and I wouldn't take anything for that mallet.
