Mickey’s Wall Unit #1
This wall unit and bar were constructed of maple plywood for the main boxes. Bending plywood for curved flat surfaces. Mdf for the compound curved surfaces which was laminated to 3″ thick in some cases using Fasco epoxy #110 to provide an extremely stable, non shrinking lamination, for the buffed and polished black polyester paint surfaces and also the 18k real gold leaf on mdf surfaces also having a polyester top coat. Thousands of fiber optic star tip lights were used to accent the already exaggerated futuristic design. This project was photographed throughout its entire construction process. The photo album that exists on this project alone would need several individual posts to present the whole story of its sculpted fabrication from beginning to end. And yes it was a happy ending. Will post more photos on this project later.

I would like to congratulate you on creating something that defies categorization. Of all the things that I've seen posted here, this is perhaps the most imaginative and thought-provoking. I absolutely love this piece - although I can't quite wrap my mind around how you made it. You mention that you have extensively photographed the entire fabrication process. Have you posted those pictures to a website? I would love to get a closer look!
