These artistic sculpted curves were constructed using 3/8″ thick bending plywood. They are basically all vertical layers that are separated by the horizontal bulk head layers to keep the curved shape. The idea is to get the horizontal bulk heads cut and shaped to suit your own design needs. You might even start off with cardboard to get a better idea to see the full scale shapes start to take form. Some of the work was traced and cut in a free form manner, from full scale drawings and also cut, sanded and sculpted at the time using only artistic and creative visual instincts by designing and engineering within the spirit of the moment. Being an artist my whole life does help a little bit.
