Cherry Tool cabinet
I just completed this wall cabinet in which I intend my most special hand tools. It’s made from solid cherry with a cherry plywood back, and cherry bookmatch veneered over plywood frame and panel doors.
The finish is garnet shellac.
I am probably going to add some drawers in the lower section, hence the fixed dividing shelf. The hardware is from Brusso.
I’m particularly proud of the cornice and base moulding as I made them mostly by hand for the first time.

Any more details on the finish?
It looks great!
Thanks! Re the finish, it was nothing special. I sanded to 220, then using my fad, I rubbed on a couple of coats of garnet shellac. A fairly heavy cut. For the doors, I did several more coats, adding a drop or two of baby oil when the fad started to stick. I do lightly sand out the first coat with 800 grit paper, but I leave the dust on the surface and work it back in with the second coat of shellac. I'll add a coat of wax at the weekend.
Very Nice good craftsman ship
craftsmanship!!!!!!
Can you show how you made the molding on your YouTube channel?
I'm with Rashbar... can you post a short video on youtube about how you did the molding? That's something I'd like to try!
