Saber-legged Side Table
This was a set of tables built for a Psychiatrist’s office. It began with a request for a very small, low side table that would subtly reflect the Danish Modern furniture already in place. The table is meant to hold little more than a box of tissues and a beverage. Satisfaction with that piece lead to a more elaborate side table. The concave legs are meant to echo the convex legs of its smaller mate. The table needed to fit a very precise space. The client specifically requested that each table be made without contrasting woods–walnut right down to the drawer pulls. The legs, aprons, drawer blades and drawer fronts were all taken from two short, matching flitches. The curl was a delight to bring forward. Drawer sides are cherry. Drawer bottoms are solid poplar. The dovetails were cut by hand. Finish if Waterlox Orig.

Very nice piece Matt, fits the space well. Like your choice in grain graphics for drawer fronts and case work.
