Small bench — a comedy of errors
A friend gave me this interesting walnut board and I planned on making a very small bench for the basement landing. I figured on an evenings work but it turned out that the board was unevenly planed. Since I did not want to reduce the thickness of the board I decided to live with it the way it was—Thus making rabits level on an uneven piece.
OK, but it turned out that the Ash ends were parallel but not centered due to the shape of the board—This requiring angled tenons for the strecher to be centered. I used wedged tenons to anchor same. Added to the fussy bow ties, I spent about four times the time that I had planned for the project
