Adams Chairs
Woodworker: Joseph P. Klosek
A photo in Colonial Furniture in America by Luke Vincent Lockwood gave Klosek inspiration for these 18th-century chairs. He picked this design as a challenge incorporating multi-axis turning, carving and veneering. The seats are constructed using stack laminations and the upholstery is horsehair, cotton batting and muslin. Each chair is finished with a water-based dye and four coats of seedlac shellac.
