Woodworker: Josh Finn
While his blanket chest lends a traditional face to alder, Josh Finn also uses the hardwood in more contemporary applications such as this kitchen cabinet. He was able to include carving in the piece because Alder’s grain and color aren’t distracting and the wood is soft enough to work but strong enough to hold edges and maintain some integrity.
