Art Deco-style Dining Table
Woodworker: Keith Cornell
Cornell and Smith built this dining table as part of a two-piece set. The design was inspired by an Art Deco table built by Henri Jules Ferdinand Bellery-Desfontaines, featured in French Decorative Art: The Societé Des Artistes Décorateurs 1900-1942 (Flammarion, 1990). Made of Honduras mahogany, the table features three crotch mahogany veneer starbursts and ebony inlay borders in the top. The finish is catalyzed lacquer.
