The inspiration behind this maple bench came from a Hank Gilpin article in Home Furniture magazine. “In the article, Gilpin expressed his love of benches to show off the ‘plankiness’ of wood,” says Flaim. “I combined this concept with my love of Japanese furniture to achieve the final result.” The finish is Danish oil.
