Backgammon Board

Woodworker: Ric Martinelli
Martinelli and Dellavalle were commissioned to make this backgammon board as a gift from son to father. Based on an Art Deco theme, the piece is veneered in amboyna burl, Macassar ebony, African satinwood, and holly stringing. Each of the game pieces is inlaid with eight 2.35-mm black and white mother-of-pearl dots. The finish is conversion varnish.
