Balloon Clock

Woodworker: Robert Holland
Holland built this balloon clock from plans in David Bryant’s Wooden Clock Cases (Stackpole Books, 1995). This style of clock was popular in England in the late 1700s. Holland’s version is made of solid mahogany, with mahogany and satinwood veneers, and features an eight-day, bell-strike mechanical movement. The finish is lacquer.
