Bedside Cabinet
Woodworker: Michael C. Fortune
Fortune used a variety of techniques to create this curved bedside cabinet. The simple back leg design is based on a found chest that Fortune used while in college. There is a wide cove that runs along the back that serves as a channel for cords. By using a bead-and-hinge detail the hinges almost disappear into the bead after the cabinet was coated with lacquer. The piece is made from cherry and features ebony pulls.
