Bent Maple Chair

Woodworker: Robert Galusha
This chair was designed to be visually delicate yet have considerable strength. Galusha used a combination of steam-bending and laminating to achieve the fluid curves of the chair. The floating seat slats are set into deep mortises and can flex downward with the weight of the occupant. The finish is tung oil and carnauba wax.
