Biedermeier-style Armoire
Woodworker: Ritter Antik
Classical architecture inspired Biedermeier furniture makers. The lines and proportions of Greek and Roman buildings underlie much of Biedermeier furniture. Sometimes the link was subtle, at other times explicit, as with the temple at the top of this birch-veneered armoire. Called a blender (German for deceiver), this piece was made to resemble a secretary.
