Birdcage Windsor Side Chair
Woodworker: Curtis Buchanan
This adaptation of the classic Windsor chair incorporates such design elements as a false miter joint between the crest rail and post, a seat with a gouged groove (or gutter), and a painting treatment that imitates bamboo. The chair is made from maple, red oak, and white pine. It is finished with milk paint topped with penetrating oil.
