Bird’s-Eye Maple and Cherry Sleigh Bed

Fleming crafted this custom sleigh bed for a client who had asked for it to be made from solid bird’s-eye maple. Unable to find 8/4 material required, he convinced her to go with cherry and bird’s-eye maple veneer instead. Fleming used bending plywood for the panel cores. He also tested out a vacuum press for the first time. The finish is pure linseed oil.
