Bubinga Folding Screen
Woodworker: V. PeriThe panels of this solid bubinga folding screen are curved horizontally so it is self-standing when fully open. There also is a slight curve from top to bottom. Peri built the hinges into the panels by cutting overlapping sections and doweling them with a brass rod, separating the sections with a hardwood washer. The legs are wenge, and the cherry blossom inlay is mother of pearl and wenge. Finished with lacquer, the screen is 10 in. deep by 72 in. wide by 65 in. tall.
