Bulter’s massive built-in bookcase invites the reader to browse its shelves. Cherry cabinets convey warmth, and the counter provides a place to open a book. The balance of the piece is made from white pine, artist’s pressboard, figured maple, and ebony. It is finished with shellac, oil and varnish mixture, and paint.
