Burnt Orange Sideboard with Scoops

Meyer created the scooped-out pattern of this sideboard (16 in. deep by 48 in. wide by 38 in. tall) with a cove bit and a handheld router. The birch carcase is finished with an opaque orange lacquer, brown glaze, and clear lacquer. The oak base is finished with alternating coats of two ebonizing solutions (iron shavings and soaked walnuts) and topcoated with lacquer.
