Woodworker: Rudolf Hieke
Hieke, a former craftsman for Steinway pianos, made this walnut center table. The table features hand-cut rose inlay of birch and holly veneer. The darker shades were achieved by dipping the veneer in hot sand. The legs are salvaged pieces from the Steinway factory. No stain was used on the table. Hieke spent about 350 hours on this unique piece.
