Cherry Corner Cabinet
Woodworker: Ted Saxerud
Saxerud made a deal with his wife: If he could buy a tablesaw he’d build her a dining table. Once he built the table and she knew what beautiful things he was capable of making, she asked for a place to store her family china. This cherry corner cabinet (one of two) incorporates bubinga, sycamore, and ebony inlay. Saxerud used splined miter joints on the angled parts and mortise-and-tenon joints everywhere else. The cabinet, finished with shellac and lacquer, stands 22 in. deep by 42 in. wide by 87 in. tall. From Fine Woodworking #205
