Cherry Crib
Woodworker: Scott Pollio
Scott Pollio took an interest milling his own lumber several years ago and decided to take advantage of a stand of cherry trees on his grandfather’s property. Learning his wife was pregnant helped him pick his first projects using the wood he and his father milled: a crib and nursery furniture. It took Pollio 300 hours to craft this curvaceous crib that he stained with red mahogany and cherry oil. He finished it with medium rub, clear-coat lacquer. “Although my grandfather is no longer with us, with my father’s help, I consider the crib the work of three generations and we look forward to passing it on to future generations,” said Pollio.
