Gallery: Chess Table

Turnings, carvings, and inlay adorn this small chess table. Wortel crafted the board with solid wood with squares of holly and Peruvian walnut. He turned and carved accompanying chess pieces from holly and African blackwood. The carved and shaped legs come from mahogany while the serpentine aprons are covered by lacewood veneer. The piece also includes two hand-dovetailed drawers.
